In commemoration with Youths across the world on the occasion of 2022 International Youth Day celebration; as recognized by the United Nations to appreciate youths all over the world for their tremendous contributions to the development of our society; the Vice President West Africa, Pan-African Youth Union (PYU), eulogies youths and resoundingly commend their efforts and selfless contributions in order to ensure that we have a hospitable environment and society to live in.
The PYU Vice President West Africa, Dr. Oladele John Nihi, then charge youths across all West African countries to be more involved in the affairs of governance, economic development, social integration, and all lacking sectors in their respective countries, to collectively realize the common goal of achieving the Africa of our dreams even beyond the AU Agenda 2063. Also, in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as set by the United Nations, the world needs to leverage on the full potential of all generations to be involved in achieving all 17 Goals. In realizing this singular objective, the youths having the highest energy and willpower, have a big role to play.
As captured by the theme of year 2022 International Youth Day Celebration: “Intergenerational solidarity: creating a world for all ages” The theme intends to spread the message that every generation needs to take action to achieve all 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by the year 2030, and doing more even beyond the target year.
We have the energy as youths. The world needs these energies for realistic growth and sustainable development across all sectors of our societies.
Congratulations to youths across the world, and Africa in particular, on this year’s celebration of the International Youth Day. Let us continue to do more.
God bless Africa!
