***As solid Minerals Commissioner pledges equal treatment

Global Times Nigeria Investigation reports that over 300 supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, including loyalists of a serving house of representatives member representing Lokoja/Kogi-Koton-karfe federal constituency, Saturday dumped their former party and joined the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
Kogi local government area is in the western district of the State had received government presents especially under the present administration of Governor Yahaya Bello.
Recall that Governor Yahaya Bello had built, furnished a world class ultramodern hospital, graded their traditional stools, secured the area against Darul-salam and other Banditry activities and appointed sons and daughters into his ongoing administration these were reasons that pushed for a one party system in the area.
The former PDP, Malam Saminu Bahaushe who led new entrants, including women and youths leaders from different wards within the local government area into the APC, attributed their decision to the good and purpose-driven leadership style of Governor Yahaya Bello.
Bahaushe noted that Governor Bello has within the last 6 and half years restored peace and harmony, and provided needed dividends of democracy with educational transformation, healthcare facility among other achievements too numerous to mention.
“The PDP National Assembly member we have is only after his pocket, he do not know what dividends mean to his constituents, we are tired of being misled.”
He said the APC donated millions of naira, food items and others to cushioning the effect of flooding in the area.
He described PDP as monumental failure with dubious elements as it’s leaders.
“Following the resurface of flooding in Kogi LG, we contacted Barr. Shaba Ibrahim, the member representing the people of Lokoja/Kogi-Koton-karfe at the National Assembly who told them an under serving manner that his only duty to them is to legislate and nothing more.”
He also made a compassionate appealed to the present administration to carried them along in the policies and programs in moving the State to greater heights.
Other defectors who spoke in an interview with our correspondent said the present administration’s sincere commitment in security, provision of dividends, upgrading and grading of traditional stools, provision of health care centre, women and youths empowerment among others convinced them to joined the ruling party.
According to them, their decision to join the APC was to appreciate the governor’s people’s-oriented policies towards the wellbeing of their people.
A serving Commissioner in the State Ministry for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr. Muhammed Abubakar Bashir Gegu whole reacting to the development assured them that the government under the leadership of his benefactor, mentor, leader and incumbent Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello will give equal treatment in an effort to continue to provide the needed dividends of democracy at all levels.
The Kogi LG political leader also said with the calibre of detectors received into the APC, their chances to win the 2023 election is fortified and more brighter, even as he said it’s now very obvious that the Kogi LG is now ready to deliver a block votes to their incoming President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator, reps and state assembly in 2023 elections.
The Chairman of APC in Kogi local government state, Abubakar Onah while presenting the new APC flags to the new entrants, lauded Governor Bello for delivering on his mandate to transform the state.
He said: ”This is why APC has become a party that everyone wants to join and we will keep receiving new members”. He stated.
Global Tmes Nigeria revealed that the Executive chairman of Kogi LGA, Alhaji Dauda Aliyu, Hon Bala Ette, Hon Abdullahi Idowu Suleiman, Hon Badakwoshi, Hon Danladi Suleiman Aguye, Former APC women Leader, Maryam Suleiman, Hon Abubakar Sadiq Onah, the LGA APC chairman attended the ceremony.
