The spokesperson of the Atiku presidential campaign organisation, Dino Melaye has accused the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu of enhancing wealth without a business he can point to.
The former lawmaker representing Kogi West senatorial district stated this in an interview with Tribune on Saturday.
Melaye noted that the former Governor of Lagos State denied the ownership of Alpha Beta, which could have been his means of enhancing wealth.
He further stated that the only business Tinubu is been linked to are The Nation newspaper and TVC.
The former legislature stated this while justifying how the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar enhanced his wealth.
Melaye added that Tinubu in the past thirty to forty years has not added to his educational knowledge.
He said, “The difference is that Atiku is a billionaire with an enterprise; you can see him in manufacturing, logistics, banking, education, oil and gas; you can see him even in humanities but Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a billionaire without an enterprise.
“What can you associate with Tinubu? He even denied the ownership of Alpha Beta. The only two things he admitted he runs are The Nation newspaper and TVC. So, we are talking about [Tinubu] a billionaire without an enterprise and [Atiku] a billionaire with an enterprise who has succeeded, who is a major employer of labour in this country.
“Over the years, he has managed the businesses into successes and these businesses have grown to become intercontinental. Atiku understands the dynamics of the economy. He understands the private sector. He understands what liberalisation of our economy will bring for us. He understands what the privatisation of our economy will bring for us.
“He understands the role of the private sector in the modern-day economy. He knows the pros and cons of the economy. Now, he has gone to garnish his knowledge with Masters in International Relations and Diplomacy from a university in Cambridge. He has updated his education. Has Tinubu gone back to school since he left school 30-40 years ago?”
