Master Ibrahim Abdulkareeq of Champions Group of Schools, Otite, Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State has emerged best in Biology in the just concluded 25th Annual Junior Engineering Technician Scientist (JETS) Competition.

The competition which was organized by the Department of Science and Technology, Federal Ministry of Education held at the National Mathematical Centre Abuja from the 30th September to November 6th, 2022 saw master Ibrahim Abdulkareeq emerged overall best in biology beaten all other contestants from all the states of the Federation.

Receiving the team in Lokoja, the State Commissioner for Education Science and Technology, Hon. Wemi Jones thanked them for being good ambassadors of the state, noting that their the performance was a product of the effort being put in place by the Government of Alhaji Yahaya Bello the Executive Governor of kogi state to revamp the state education sector.

The State Government he said has invested so much in Education in the area of infrastructure, good educational policy and man power, adding that the approval for the recruitment of over 3,500 secondary school teachers would go a long way in improving the quality of education in the state.

He assured of the commitment of the state government towards making sure that they improved on their performance in the next competition.

Students drawn from six schools in the state namely; GYB Model Science Secondary School, Lokoja, Champions Group of Schools, Otite, Government Science Secondary, Lokoja, Faith Academy School, Lokoja, Bishop Delis Secondary School Lokoja and Army Day Secondary School, Lokoja represented the state at the annual competition.
