Just four months following the establishment of the Governing Council by the Federal Government, the institution underwent a rapid upgrade and rigorous ministerial assessment, culminating in its official unveiling as a university. This transformation stands as a testament to the unwavering dedication and collaborative effort of Hon. Olumoko, the Governing Council, and key stakeholders within the region.
The pivotal role played by the ministerial assessment team, comprising officials from the Federal Ministry of Education, National University Commission, and National Commission for Colleges of Education, ensured that all necessary criteria were meticulously met for the successful elevation of the institution.
