In a landmark decision, Governor Ahmed Ododo of Kogi State has approved a significant increase in the minimum wage for workers in the state, setting it at N72,500. Governor Ododo, himself a former labor leader and civil servant, emphasized the importance of not forgetting his roots and the struggles faced by state workers. The governor’s decision, effective immediately, also includes the suspension of withholding tax from civil servants’ salaries for a year.
