In commemoration of year 2022 African Youth Month which traditionally kickstarts on every November 1st, to celebrate and reenergized African Youth all over AU member states, I in a high spirit of ecstasy and jubilation wishes to admonish African Youth to be an ambassador of transformation and agents of positive integration for the Africa we all need to be actualized.

Reechoing the importance of allying with AU-Agenda 2063, and Aspiration 6 in particular which envisions a continent with people-driven development, relying on its youth:

Young people constitute the highest percentage of the continent’s population. This puts the percentage at 75% of Africa’s 1.2 billion inhabitants being youths. Also, according to the Africa Youth Chatter as adopted in 2006, which recognizes people between the ages of 15-35 as youth, this shows a relatively large presence of young people in Africa at the center of every developmental stage in all member states of the AU. Africa is not only blessed, but richly endowed by this vast youthful spirit and energies radiating at all levels of engagements; as we continue to strive for a better continent.

I further wishes to eulogies the youths of Africa to key into the messages imbedded in this year’s theme of event: “Breaking the Barriers To Meaningful Youth Participation and Inclusion in Advocacy” and unite across all levels, noting that for us to achieve an integrated, prosperous and peaceful Africa, driven by its own citizens and representing a dynamic force in the global arena, the youths of Africa has to get involved.

Get involved NOW!

Wishing African Youth a happy youth month, 2022.
