***Engr. Bashiru Gegu described Gov. Bello as a promise keeper, who has fulfilled his promises to the people of Kogi LGA.
Two Peoples Democratic Party Ward Chairmen in Kogi LGA, Unit leaders and Former Special Adviser in PDP, have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress.



The two Chairmen who defected are Muhammed Ozahi and Abdulkarim Shaibu Saikayi.
They duo were the former Ward Chairmen of Girinya and KKSE Ward respectively. They defected alongside thousand of their members.
Equally, Hon Ibrahim Usman Egye also a former strong pillar of PDP joined the APC with his supporters from different ethnic groups.
Others who equally defected were the Next level Vanguard group Chairman, Comrade Abdullahi Omare Muhammed who led some of its members to APC explaining that they have giving out their best have not been rewarded.
According to the defectors, they have seen that the rewarding system in APC is real, reason why they have decided to re-name their Group to Aguye Next Level Vanguard.
They added that part of there reasons for defecting is not far fetch, said they want to individually and collectively as a community benefit from the dividends of democracy as is presently experienced by the people of the Local government from Gov. Yahaya Bello.
The defectors disclosed that the APC is a party that is fulfilling the promises it made to the people, said they can no longer wait but to join the moving train.
In his remarks at the ceremony, Hon. Bashir Gegu, Kogi State Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, commended the defectors for their courage, tasked them to be loyal to the system, committed and show capacity by working assiduously for the APC.
Engr Gegu attributed the wind of change blowing in Kogi LGA to the good works of Gov. Bello, praised him for creating the enabling environment that has made APC to in the last couple of months, ahead the February election harvest many members of the opposition party.
The Commissioner described the forthcoming general election as a walkover, pointing out that the gale of defection is a referendum, attesting to the fact that the APC is the dominant party in Kogi LGA.
He urged the defectors to see the party as home where they all have equal rights, promised that all dues made for them would be delivered at there doorsteps individually and in there respective communities.
He commended the roads, electrification of communities, hospitals, water, schools built and all the all round development the Local government is witnessing as the handwork of Gov. Bello, described him as a promise keeper, who has fulfilled his promises to the people of Kogi LGA.
The APC House of Representatives Candidate, Hon Danladi Suleiman Aguye, APC House of Assembly Candidates for Kogi LGA, Lokoja 1, Hon Edris Aliyu Maikudi and Hon. Teambest were respectively present at the defection ceremony.
Also present were the APC Chairmen for Kogi and Lokoja LGAs, SSA’s to Gov. Bello, the Executive Vice Chairman of the LGA, Hon Dauda Aliyu, Councillors, Party Leader, Hon Muhammed Shaibu Asio, LGA Party Executives, Ward Chairmen all from Kogi LGA graced the occasion. Similarly, the State Youth leader of APC Hon. Muhammad U Muhammad attended the defection ceremony.
