The Osun State chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) has recognised the Osun Central Senatorial Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Ajagunla Olubiyi Fadeyi, with the “Grassroot Mobiliser of the Year” Award.

Presenting the award on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at the NUJ Press Centre, Osogbo the state capital of Osun State, the Chief Press Secretary to the outgoing Governor of Osun State, CPS Omipidan, stated that Ajagunla Olubiyi Fadeyi is well deserving of the award bestowed upon him by the Nigerian Union of Journalists.

Receiving the award on behalf of Ajagunla Olubiyi Fadeyi, Comrade Popoola Oladayo Samson (Great-Emperor Ola), thanked the Osun State chapter of the NUJ for the gesture.

In his response, he said “On behalf of Ajagunla Olubiyi Fadeyi, the Osun Central senatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, I sincerely appreciate this great recognition. I am extremely gratified to be recognised by the noble and prestigious Nigerian Union of Journalists”.

In his remark, Comrade Popoola explained that Chief Olubiyi Fadeyi sent his best wishes but could not attend the very important event due to an urgent assignment outside the state. He thanked and appreciated the NUJ for counting him (Ajagunla Olubiyi Fadeyi) worthy of the honour, promising not to rest in his owls but will continue to pursue the common good of all, restore and integrate our country among comity of nations and see that the quality of lives of our people are improve.

His decision to contest for Senate was born out of desire to bring dividend of democracy to the doorsteps of the good people of Osun Central senatorial district with a promise to provide exemplary leadership and ensure that democratic governance prevails when elected in the February 15 election.
