A renowned Philanthropist in Kogi State Amb. Gabriel Abinu on Sunday urged Nigerians to use the Easter season to promote tolerance, peace and harmony in the country as demonstrated by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Amb. Abinu, in his Easter message contained in a statement , reminded Christians of Christ’s death on the cross of Calvary not just as a sacrificial lamb but also to engender the forgiveness of sins of mankind.
He called on the people to be united irrespective of religion, ethnic and political differences, explaining that without love and Unity, there can be no egalitarian society.
According to him, “Christians should demonstrate love because Christ did so to save humanity. There should be love and unity. Let tolerate one another and bear one another’s burden, by doing so, we have reflected on the significance of the celebration”.
The young Philanthropist felicitated with the government of Kogi State under the leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and the people on this year easter celebration, urging everyone to always pray for the leaders and contribute meaningfully to governance.
He further stated that all members of the society should make sacrifices that would advance the cause of the vulnerable and the downtrodden.
“Easter is a period of divine. We should spread that love around by praying, and standing up to victims of circumstance that have found themselves in vulnerable situations within us and elsewhere.
“We can do this by working closely with charity organisations to give them hope, courage and the will to be strong. Doing this will make Nigeria and the world a better place to live in” the statement added.
