Some applicants for secondary school teachers in Kogi, have commended the State Government for ensuring an open and transparent recruitment exercise.
The applicants gave the commendation in their separate interviews with our Correspondent on Friday, at the ongoing Oral interviews for shortlisted candidates at GYB Model Science Secondary School, Lokoja,
They expressed their satisfactions with the transparency of the recruitment process beginning from the online registration to aptitude test and followed by the oral interviews.
Mr Suleiman Etudaiye, from Olamaboro, said everything had been well conducted from the commencement of the recruitment exercise to the oral interviews.
”Everything has been well managed and transparent, kudos to the State Government and Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Hon. Wemi Jones, for a job well done.
Etudaiye, who applied as Civic Education teacher, said: ”the way they conducted the interview was very transparent and the online registration was also well done.
”I am very satisfied with the way they managed everything,” he said
On her part, Tolulope Ihinmikaiye, from Ijumu local government, said the entire processes had been smoothly managed.
Ihinmikaiye, who applied for French teacher, said: ”everthing went smoothly and perfect”.
Two applicants, David Awolu and Rukayat Abubakar from Idah and Okene respectively, said they were happy with the transparency of the exercise.
”It has been a friendly experience and I am okay with the exercise,” David said.
Our Correspondent reports that the Deputy Governor, Chief David Onoja, who visited the venue of the exercise, commended the commissioner and the officials for ensuring a smooth process.
The deputy governor wished the applicants good luck in their interviews.
Speaking with our Correspondent, the commissioner said the state government had ensured a thorough, transparent, participatory and all encompassing exercise.
He restated the commitment of His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello to ensure that well qualified teachers were employed as part of efforts to revamping education in the state.
He advised the applicants to continue to conduct themselves very well during the exercise, and wished them successful outcomes.
On his part, the state’s Commissioner for Information and Communication, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo, said the exercise was a successful process.
He noted that his ministry had been coming to monitor the process since the beginning of the exercise, saying, ”it has been excellent”.
He advised the prospective teachers to show dedication to their duties to complement government’s efforts in building excellent structures and model schools across the state.
