The member representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu at the House of Representatives, Arc. Salman Idris, has made a significant political move by defecting from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a letter addressed to the Speaker of the House, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, and read on the floor of the Green Chamber, Arc. Salman explained that his decision to defect was a result of careful consultation with critical stakeholders in his Federal Constituency and the overwhelming calls from his constituents.

He cited the national leadership crisis within the ADC as a major factor behind his defection, stating that it was necessary for him to align with the political party that would best represent the collective political values and principles of the people he represents.

Arc. Salman’s letter emphasized the importance of being a true representative of the people and responding to their demands. He believes that his move to the APC will better serve the interests and aspirations of his constituents in Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency and Kogi State at large.
