A South West pressure group, Alliance of PDP Democrats has warned the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against alleged plans to appoint former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola as Director General of his presidential campaign organisation.

The group in a statement described Oyinlola as a closet APC sympathizer who worked against PDP in the last election and who has a clandestine link with both Bola Tinubu and Gboyega Oyetola.

In the statement signed by its Coordinator, Yusuf Olalekan , the group tasked the leadership of the PDP and the presidential candidate to study closely Oyinlola’s records of anti-party activities and collusion with APC , warning that the former Governor cannot be trusted with such sensitive assignment.

“Atiku Abubakar and Iyorchia Ayu should read carefully- Oyinlola is an APC agent. He instructed his supporters to vote APC a night before the last Osun election. In his polling unit, both PDP and APC had the same votes. In his local government, he is hand in glove with the APC. Why will anybody think of such a person as the DG?

“Aside that report from our members in Osun state confirmed that the Prince is a closet ally of Oyetola and Asiwaju Tinubu. The relationship among the trio is solid. To make him DG may imply PDP itself is not ready to win the presidency”, the statement noted.

The Alliance of PDP Democrats however assured the PDP leadership of a very strong support base in the South West and Osun state in particular, urging the candidate to enforce inclusive team for the presidential campaigns as South West is a zone waiting to produce the next First Lady of Nigeria.

“Victory is nearby for the PDP and her candidate. Osun has set the pace and this will reach Aso Rock soon. But we must avoid APC agents as our Director General so that we will not play into the hands of APC at the general elections”, the statement concluded.
