***Kogi State Government hails local hunters and security agents for brave rescue operation of abducted Custech students.

In a daring rescue operation, some of the students abducted by gunmen at the Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara have been safely rescued by local hunters and security agents. The swift action came hours after the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alh Ahmed Usman Ododo visited the institution to assure parents of his commitment to rescuing the students.

Local vigilante men and security agents engaged the kidnappers in a fierce shootout, leading to the kidnappers escaping with gun wounds while leaving the kidnapped students behind. Many of the kidnapped students and other captives have been rescued and taken to medical facilities for proper attention.

Security agents are currently combing the forests to ensure all the kidnapped students are found and brought home safely. However, in the intense gun battle, a local hunter and a DSS operative sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical attention.

The Kogi State Government commends the bravery and gallantry of the local hunters and security agents involved in the rescue operation. Special recognition goes to the DSS for acting on credible intelligence to coordinate the fearless confrontation with the outlaws. The successful rescue operation showcases the resolve of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to ensure the security and well-being of the people of Kogi State.

Residents are urged to report anyone with gun wounds found in their communities to law enforcement agents to aid in the ongoing efforts to bring all the kidnapped students back home safely.
