A momentous occasion unfolded in Gbede Kingdom as Chief Mrs. Toyin Omole was honored with the prestigious chieftaincy title of Iya Ewe of Gbede Kingdom by His Royal Highness, Oba (Col. Engr.) Olusegun Oloruntoba, the Olugbede.
The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna, Chairman of Ijumu Local Government; HRH Oba (Dr.) Williams Olusegun Ayeni JP, Obadofin I, the Olujumu of Ijumu Kingdom; HRH Oba Faleje Tayo David, Chairman of the Organizing Committee for Gbede Day 2025; and the Gbede Traditional Council members. A large number of APC loyalists from Ayetoro and the Ijumu local government area were also present to witness the historic event.
In her acceptance speech, the newly conferred Iya Ewe of Gbede Kingdom expressed her unwavering commitment to the development and prosperity of the kingdom. As a gesture of goodwill, she announced a generous donation of ₦1 million toward the proposed Olugbede Palaces project, along with an additional 1 million contribution to the Gbede Traditional Council. Chief Mrs. Omole extended her heartfelt gratitude to all well-wishers, promising to dedicate herself to the progress and unity of Gbede Kingdom.
The event was marked by cultural displays, heartfelt speeches, and a collective celebration of tradition, leadership, and communal harmony in Gbede Kingdom.
