Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), has expressed her unwavering commitment to a more efficient and accountable civil service that works for the common good of all Nigerians. In her New Year message titled, “A Renewed Call for Optimal Performance and Efficiency,” Yemi-Esan urged civil servants to remain dedicated to meritocracy, professionalism, and continuous self-development, stressing that these qualities are crucial for building a globally relevant civil service.
Recognizing the collective effort and hard work of civil servants in 2023, Yemi-Esan attributed the achievements of the past year to the unwavering commitment and resilience of the civil service. She emphasized that none of the successes would have been possible without their camaraderie and unwavering can-do attitude, especially during the period of political transition.
Yemi-Esan highlighted that the New Year signifies a fresh start and an opportunity for all civil servants to renew their dedication to the success of the current administration. She commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s visionary leadership and his comprehensive plan called the Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to improve all facets of the country’s socio-economic landscape. Yemi-Esan emphasized the importance of collaboration among public sector operators to ensure the agenda’s success and benefit all Nigerians.
As part of the implementation strategy, the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation has aligned the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021-2025 (FCSSIP25) with the Renewed Hope Agenda. This effort seeks to optimize the civil service’s contribution to achieving the agenda’s goals.
Yemi-Esan extended her heartfelt prayers for civil servants to tap into their exceptional potential and seize opportunities that lie ahead. She wished them a peaceful, prosperous, and highly productive 2024, emphasizing the need to work toward the common good of all Nigerians.
