Chief David Shola Aiyedogbon urged Nigerians to remain hopeful assuring that the country is on the way to recovery from the many troubles of insecurity, banditry, kidnapping and wonton destruction of lives and property currently bedeviling her.
Chief David Shola Aiyedogbon stated this in his democracy day message released in Lokoja on Sunday,12th June,2022, signed by his special assistant, Azeez Abdullateef.
Mr Charvid described this day as a significant one in the history of the nation as it marks the return of power to the people.
Our uninterrupted democracy since 1999, is proof of its overwhelming popularity and acceptance, as it has allowed the active participation of everyone in the society in choosing their leader.
I want to use this opportunity to again commend our President, Muhammadu Buhari for officially recognising June 12 as the nation’s Democracy Day in honour of the Late M.K.O. Abiola, who paid a steep price for this participatory government.
Mr Charvid assured Nigerians that the APC administration at both local, state and national level is committed to putting in place solid structures that will ensure that Nigerians continue to enjoy dividends of democracy.
He commended the Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello for his efforts at ensuring the state continue to enjoy relative peace and tranquility despite the
Palpable fear of insecurity pervading the country at the moment.
Mr Charvid called on Kogi people, Nigerians and friends of Nigeria to continue to support the efforts of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, The APC presidential flag bearer and President Muhammad Buhari to deepening democratic value, ensuring that our people remains the major stakeholders In the democratic process of governance.
Mr Charvid enjoins everyone to rise up to the challenge of contributing to sustenance of democracy in the state and country at large.
He pointed out that APC Government at all level is working hard to overcome the current economic challenge and whatever shortcomings of democratic rule.
