Ede South chair, Afolabi Distributes 20 Bags Of Corn, Cash To Constituents

Chairman of Ede South Local Government Area of Osun State, Lukman Afolabi Abere Soose, has distributed over 20 bags of corn with cash to 50 indigent women in Jagun Jagun Ward.

The distribution was done immediately after Jagun Jagun Ward 03 meeting on Sunday.

Afolabi, who monitored the distribution of the corn said he was motivated to do it in reciprocating the unflinching support from residents of the local government.

“We are distributing this (corn) with cash to enable our petty trading women who need it for their business , they have been our pillars and we need to motivate them, especially during this hard time.”

“I have also donated cash to all the five wards of Alajue, Jagun Jagun, Agate, Babasanya, and Kuye Ward in Ede South local government and also promise to engage women and youth that are into small scale business,” Afolabi said.

The chairman lauded Governor of the State, Senator Ademola Adeleke and Peoples Democratic Party,PDP, leaders of Ede South local government for giving him an enabling environment to take dividends of democracy to the grassroots.

He urged residents of Ede South local government to continue to support and pray for Governor Ademola Adeleke and his cabinet to succeed in delivering of good governance.

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Mary Adepoju, mother of three from Ago zone, who uses corn for her business thanked the chairman for supporting them.

According to Mrs Mary, Hon Afolabi, has demonstrated to us again that he is truly representing their interest at the local council level.

Another beneficiary, Ibidun Akibu, also thanked the chairman for his kind gesture saying receiving the corn and cash to support her business will go a long way.

“At this time of unfriendly economy the chairman has reduced our financial burden, may God continue to enrich him with knowledge and wisdom to discharge his duties” she said.
