EKO 2024: Association of Nigerian Women in Sports NAWIS Gears Up for National Games

The National Public Relations Officer of the Association of Nigerian Women in Sports (NAWIS), Mrs. Olufunke Kanjuni, has announced the upcoming national event tagged “EKO 2024.” In a statement, she excitedly declared, “EKO 2024 LOADING! ! !”

The Lagos Chapter of NAWIS is extending an invitation to all members for the “NAWIS GAMES,” set to take place in Lagos from the 18th to the 22nd of April 2024. The event will feature a variety of sports as indicated on the flyer, promising a thrilling and competitive atmosphere for athletes and supporters alike.

Games to be completed for include: Cricket, Handball, Basketball, Taekwondo, Table Tennis and Sitting Volleyball, all female categories.

To ensure that all interested members can participate, the host chapter is diligently working on providing affordable accommodation options, taking into consideration the current economic challenges facing the country. Details regarding accommodation will be communicated in due course.

In a call to action, the President of NAWIS appeals to all chapter Chairpersons/Coordinators to mobilize their members and encourage them to be part of this exciting and unifying event. With the National President, Professor Adefunke Suleiman, and the Lagos Chapter Chairperson, Tayo Popoola, leading the charge, EKO 2024 promises to be a memorable and impactful occasion for women in sports across Nigeria.
