Kogi State has taken a major step towards transforming its power sector with the signing of the Electricity Market and Regulatory Commission Bill into law by Governor Usman Ododo.
The move has been hailed by Engr Iselewa Oluwaseyi, a power sector professional, who congratulated Governor Ododo for his exceptional service and dedication to the state’s economic development.
Engr Oluwaseyi commended the Kogi State House of Assembly for swiftly passing the bill, showcasing their commitment to the state’s economic development and citizen well-being.
He emphasized the importance of focusing on key areas such as tariff structure, grid stability, consumer protection, renewable energy integration, and skill acquisition programs to unlock investment potential and ensure a robust electricity market.
The signing of the bill is expected to bring about improved electricity supply, increased investment in the power sector, economic growth and development, and access to reliable and affordable electricity for all Kogites.
