A former lawmaker, Hon Alfred Bello has called on the national assembly constitution review committee to make sure that the constitution is amended in such away that elected officials are compel to give feedback to the citizens.
He said there must be periodic town hall meeting between the elected and the electorates so as to close communication gap in governance, which is an important instrument and pivotal on which democracy should revolve.
The lawmaker who is currently a Phd student in Election and party politics at the federal university Lokoja is of the opinion that it’s high time to make the elected representatives responsible to the people with policies that will straighten our democracy.
