The FCT Minister of State, Haj. Ramatu Tijani Aliyu commiserates with His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi State and the entire people of Kogi State over the unfortunate incident of flood disaster, which has wreaked havoc in some communities.
“I will work with relevant agencies to give the communities all the necessary support and provide relief materials to alleviate their suffering.
“However, it is regrettable that we face such flood disasters practically every rainy season, partly as a result of our people erecting structures in places that are prone to floods and lack drainage systems.
“Also, I urge the people in flood-prone areas to identify high grounds and safely move there. I also appeal to affected communities to adhere to directives from the government and relief agencies as they work to bring assistance within the shortest possible time.
