The Honourable Commissioner of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Dr. Adeniyi Aderibigbe Helen, expressed her admiration for the emotional intelligence and compassion exhibited by Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State during a strategic engagement meeting held at the Kogi State Government House.
The Public/Private Stakeholders’ Strategic Engagement Meeting, which took place on the 4th and 5th of July 2024, aimed to lay the groundwork for the Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology under the leadership of Governor Ododo.
Dr. Helen highlighted the significance of embracing technology and innovation for the advancement of Kogi State. She emphasized the transformative power of technology in driving progress, spurring economic development, and improving the quality of life for all citizens.
As a newly created ministry, the stakeholders’ meeting served as a platform to establish operating policies, roadmaps, and strategies for the Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology. Dr. Helen stressed the importance of setting clear goals, developing research and implementation plans, allocating resources, and engaging in regular progress monitoring to achieve success.
The Honourable Commissioner outlined critical success factors such as leadership, clear objectives, communication, risk management, and stakeholder engagement. She emphasized the need for ethical considerations, team competencies, and impact assessments to ensure the ministry’s effectiveness.
The Honourable Commissioner commended Governor Ododo for his vision and leadership, describing him as a beacon of honesty and transparency. She highlighted his commitment to the advancement of Kogi State and expressed gratitude for his support in establishing the Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology.
The stakeholders’ meeting continues with a call to action for all participants to work together towards building a dynamic innovation ecosystem that will drive growth and development in Kogi State.
