The Executive Chairman of Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael has commended the Chief Servant of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, Nigerian military for restoring peace to communities affected by the kidnapping crises in Kabba/Bunu local government area of the state
The chairman stated this on Wednesday in Kabba, expressing his delight to the state governor by appreciating him for granting his age long request of setting up an Forward Operating Base (FOB) at Iluke Bunu.
Zacchaeus commended the military’s efforts in bringing lasting peace to the area, saying “I sincerely appreciate the officers and men of the local hunters for the great job you are doing in ensuring that peace return to Kabba/Bunu LGA especially, in Bunu district.
He said that the Forward Operating Base (FOB) will go a long way to rejuvenate the fight against insurgency along Iluke, Offere, Akutupa Kiri, Ike Bunu areas.
Zacchaeus, therefore, expressed gratitude to the Federal Government and the office of the National Security Adviser for its tireless support during the security crisis.
“Let me use the opportunity once again to commend the State Government under the leadership of Governor Usman Ododo for all the support, from the quantum of security essential materials donated,” he added.
Zacchaeus reaffirm his commitment to serve the people especially at the grassroots to ensure that their lives and property are safe and secured.
“My desire for the last six months is to facilitate the establishment of military Forward Operating Base in Bunu district, and today the prayer has been fulfilled,” he said.
While appreciating Governor Usman for his full support towards ensuring adequate protection for the lives and property of the people of the state, Zacchaeus reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to continue to give total support to the military and other security agencies in ensuring the safety of lives and property of residents.
The chairman urged the residents to continue to embrace peace, and avoid being used as agents of destruction by selfish politicians.
“I want to beg all of you my people to continue to embrace peace so as to bring development to your community. The security men are here to protect you and your property and I urge you to give them your full support to aid their effective performance in protecting your lives and property.
“Your Excellency, we appreciate you for fulfilling your promise to establish FOB and for your full support to ensuring that peace is restored to the people of Bunu district and the entire Kabba/Bunu LGA.
“You have done a great job for Kabba/Bunu LGA people and we are proud of you. We are fully ready to give you our total support now and in the future.
