As part of the event that marked the 10th year anniversary of a leading media outfit, The PROJECTOR Newspaper, notable Nigerians were decorated with various awards amongst whom is Hon. Leke Abejide, a Nigerian politician at the House of Representatives. Hon. Leke Abejide currently serves as the Federal Representative representing Yagba Federal Constituency in the 9th National Assembly.
Hon Leke Abejide is the House Committee Chairman, Customs.
He is a known and resourceful entrepreneur with excellent record of success in business.
Despite his demanding schedules he found a communal responsibility through a nonpartisan Non-Governmental Organization known as Leke Abejide Foundation, which is directly responsible to serve as an intervention agency in all human needs especially for the less privileged in the society, widows, aged people and indigent students.
According to the Publisher, the award recognises and celebrate individuals and corporate bodies, whi have distinguished themselves in their various endeavours and have contributed to human capacity building, community development, professionalism, as a way of telling thhlem that their contribution to making life better has not gone unnoticed.
He is a selfless and community builder, amongst his numerous achievement, contribution, and projects are:
*Renovation of health center in collaboration with other prominent indigenes of the community.D
*Donationof poles for the rural electrification of Igbo-Ero electricity project. H
*single handedly take the responsibility of paying every five corp members that are posted to Community High School since 2011 to 2017.
*Empowerment of widows since 2014 till date.
*Hon. Leke, constructed a police station of a “C” division type to further increase security of lives and properties in Alu community, equipped with motorise borehole, generator, fence with other necessary facilities.
*Payment of school fees from Junior Secondary School to Senior Secondary School in colleges in Alu since 2014 till date.
*His love for Education is second to none, he broke the record and paid for WAEC FEES of the entire students in public school Yagba federal constituency including their administrative charges amounting to over #43Million Naira.
*He has equally computed the names of students in both public and private secondary schools for the waec registration for 2019/2020.
*He has rendered uncountable financial and material assistance to almost every one within his community.
*His kind gestures of assistance is extended to everyone he comes across which can not be quantified.
*Employment for many son’s and Daughters of Alu. He employed over 200 Yagba indigenes into his personal company to work directly under him.
He is God fearing and a serving Elder in Church. A business man, philanthropist, politician, community builder, Hon Leke Abejide is happily married to Mrs Esther Modupe Abejide with three stunning children.
