Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu 2023: Olobatoke Michael Olaiya wins PDP ticket

***Commends Co-contestants for their good spirit of sportsmanship

Hon. Olobatoke Michael Olaiya have emerged in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) primaries in Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency. Olobatoke, who won the party’s ticket polled 34 votes to defeat his closest rival, Arch. Idris Salman who scored 32 votes.

Other aspirants in the race are: Adedoyin- 1. Adeleye- 6. Obatoyinbo- 6. Abayomi- 1. Obanewo- 1. Olumeyan-10.

Olobatoke said that the victory is for the people of the federal constituency. The overwhelming votes were an indication that our party and delegates love me. We were about 6 in the contest. I will want my opponents to show the spirit of sportsmanship.

“We shall continue to live together and build Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency to the benefit of all,” he said.

Olobatoke also said that the peaceful conduct of the election demonstrated the transparency PDP had been known for, adding that the party would continue to maintain it.

He said that he was happy to have won the contest, attributing the victory to God. “I am happy to win the primary election despite all obstacles. I thank God for the victory.“I also thank all the delegates and the PDP supporters” he said.
