Kabba/Bunu LGA Chairman Condoles With The Family Of Late Major Joe Ajayi, Assures Residents Of Govt Commitment To Stamp Out Banditry In Kabba/Bunu LGA

The Executive Chairman of Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area, Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael has expressed his deep sadness at the report of the brutal murder of Major Joe Ajayi, a retired Nigerian Army who was kidnaped by unknown gunmen in his home in Odoape Bunu, Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State.

This was contained in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Omofa John on Monday.

Zacchaeus condemned the incident as inhuman, considering the efforts of government, security forces, the traditional institution and other critical stakeholders in restoring peace to those affected areas.

The chairman particularly place his most profound sympathy for the Ajayi’s family, Odoape Bunu community, and traditional rulers, describing the death as a sad and shocking development.

He assure residents of government attention and that the death of the Major Joe Ajayi will mark the end of banditry in that area, saying the government will not rest until will hunt the pillars of kidnapping activities in Kabba/Bunu LGA particularly in Bunu district.

While commiserating with the bereaved family, Zacchaeus pleaded with the community to always volunteer informations that will help the government to track down criminality and banditry in our forest.

“My good plans for Kabba/Bunu LGA remain unshaken, saying security agencies will be drafted to Odoape Bunu rout to provide security sequel to the wave of kidnapping in the area.

To this end, the Government will make further investigative research on the incident as it receives feedback from the security forces, it said.

He, therefore tasked the security agencies to put more attention on the activities of the banditry in that area, assuring the community of the government’s commitment to enhancing security and preventing further attacks.

“We assure the general public that we are in constant communication with security agencies, who are making concerted efforts to stamp out banditry in our dear local government area.
