Kogi Commissioner Wemi Jones Celebrates Unity and Progress with Bassa Community in Kabba/Bunu

The Honorable Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones, FCIB, recently met with the Bassa people living in Kabba/Bunu Local Government once again to reaffirm his support and appreciation for their continued loyalty and cooperation. The meeting, held in Kabba, was a platform for the Commissioner to express his admiration for the Bassa community and their unwavering support during past election campaigns.

During the gathering, the Commissioner stressed the importance of unity and solidarity among the Bassa people and urged them to maintain their support for the administration of Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo. He commended Governor Ododo for his all-inclusive governance approach and promised the Bassa people more benefits and assistance from the government.

The Commissioner also highlighted Governor Ododo’s determination to address security challenges in the state, assuring the Bassa people of the government’s commitment to ensuring their safety and well-being. Additionally, he emphasized the government’s dedication to providing free education in the State, with all exams being offered at no cost. He encouraged parents to enroll their children in schools and take advantage of the free educational opportunities available.

The meeting was well-attended by representatives from the Bassa community across Okunland including chiefs, youth leaders, and women leaders. The Commissioner’s visit was well-received, with the Bassa people in Okunland expressing gratitude for his continued support and pledging to work harmoniously with the government to improve their quality of life. The gathering served to strengthen the bond between the government and the Bassa community in Okunl, fostering a sense of unity and collaboration.
