Kogi Education Commissioner appointed automatic Member Lokoja Club 1901

The outstanding contributions of the Kogi State Commissioner, Science and Technology, Hon. Wemi Jones to developing education in the State has earned him an automatic membership of Lokoja Club 1901.

Hon. Jones was granted the automatic membership at the sidelines of the event birthday ceremony of the Solid Minerals Development Commissioner, Engr Bashiru Gegu.

The President of the Club, ALH. HUSSEINI ADA Alhassan made the announcement in honor of Engr. Bashir Gegu the commissioner for Solid Minerals, said the Club would be doing a disservice and not recognizing performances if it fails to bring men like the Commissioner into there fold as member.

The Club’s President urged the Commissioner to continue with his good works, pointing out that beyond the accolades and recognition, he is helping to mould a future generation the State and country will be proud of.

The President praised Gov. Bello for finding the Commissioner worthy of service, described the present administration achievements particularly in the education sector as record breaking.

Lokoja Club 1901, is the oldest club in the country, was incorporated in Nigeria with Registration Number 28887. It was registered on 31 Jul 2008

Highlights of the ceremony was the official presentation of the membership card of Lokoja Club 1901 to Hon. Jones, who assured that the determination by Gov. Yahaya Bello to reposition the education sector led to high budgetary provision and several breaking achievements in human and capital development.
