The former Commissioner of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning and a frontline Gubernatorial aspirant under the All Progressive Party, APC, Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris,FCA has been successfully screened by the NWC approved APC screening committee.
The screening took place today in Abuja and it is one of the vital electioneering process required to elect the party’s candidate at the primary election slated for 14th April, 2023.
According to the former Commissioner, ” i was strategically questioned and documents thoroughly assessed by the committee member who are men and women of value and valour in our party and society at large. Without doubt, they did an excellent job with great level of professionalism, diligence, fairness and equity”.
Asiwaju was scheduled into team B screening committee, which comprises of the following party stakeholders

- Dr Hillard Eta – Member
- Hon. Shetimma Shehu- Member
- Mrs Elizabeth Ojo – Member
- Hon. Lawal Abubakar- Member

While addressing press after the screening, he said he’s willing ,ready and well equipped after 7 years as Commissioner of finance, budget and Economic Planning to raise the bar of good Governance in the Confluence by adequately consolidating on the giant strides of His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello. I have an informed knowledge about the economic situation, financial indices and the yearnings of the people, hence, i will hit the ground running from the first day, Asiwaju stated.
In his words ” There is a 32 years development plan initiated by His Excellency, without hesitation, I will work with the documents in my quest to build a greater and better Kogi state, by reducing leakages, expand revenue drive without negative impact on the people and advancing the welfare and wellbeing of the people.
I am ready to serve passionately and Kogi state, without doubt, we have a huge sigh of relief as I lead from the front.
