The Honourable Commissioner of Education Kogi State, Hon Wemi Jones FCIB, has paid a visit to Confluence University of Science and Technology, CUSTECH, Osara, following the invasion of gunmen Thursday night. The Commissioner made the visit for an on-spot assessment of the situation and to assure parents, students, and the university community that the government is taking the incident seriously.

During his visit, Hon Jones stated that the state government is fully committed to ensuring the safety of the abducted students and will do everything in its power to secure their release. He reassured everyone that the government is on top of the situation and that the security of lives and properties of citizens is a top priority.

Speaking to OUR SOURCE at the scene, the Commissioner urged the public to remain calm and cooperative with security agencies as they work to bring the situation under control. He also called on anyone with information that could lead to the rescue of the abducted students to come forward and assist the authorities.

As investigations continue into the incident, the government has promised to provide all necessary support to the university and the affected students. The Commissioner’s visit has brought a sense of reassurance to the community and reiterated the government’s commitment to maintaining peace and security in the state.
