PROTOCOLS

  1. Fellow Kogites
  2. Today is a new day.
  3. I thank you all for the overwhelming support and acceptance so far received by our administration as we settle down for the business governance.
  4. Although it is still early days, there are obvious signs that this is the beginning of a new era in our dear state.
  5. Following the successful exit of the immediate past government led by our leader and mentor, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the fourth executive governor of Kogi State, we are gathered here to swear-in a new set of appointees who will assist me in steering the ship of state under my leadership for the next four years and more.
  6. I am delighted to have assembled a team of competent men and women drawn from diverse and balanced background with a mix of seasoned technocrats and experienced public servants who have earned their marks in different spheres of life before now.
  7. This is a team that is tested and ready and I am confident that together we shall make desired impact in the lives of our people and leave lasting legacies for others to emulate.
  8. As you assume office in your various ministries, departments and agencies of the Kogi State government, you must be reminded that we are neither the best nor the most deserving of the over Four Million Kogites that are equally very eminently qualified.
  9. As such, we must be humble and be seen and heard to be working in the interest of all Kogites without discrimination in whatever guise
  10. I urge you all to be dedicated and committed, and to do right to all manner of people without fear or favour because the oath you have just taken compels you all to do so in the course of your service to the state.
  11. Let me also remind you of the high expectation of the people of Kogi State not only on account of the exceptional performance of the immediate past administration of our boss and mentor, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello but more so because we promised to consolidate on the solid foundation already established for all-round development in the state.
  12. As members of the State Executive Council, our mandate is derived from all Kogites across the 239 wards in the 21 Local Government Areas of our state.
  13. It is therefore imperative for us to constantly live in the knowledge that we owe our seats in the cabinet to the pleasure of the people that we represent and we must never take them for granted in any way.
  14. Our administration will establish, for the first time in the state, a reward system that tracks and evaluate performance of all officials as an indication of progress made by the government over a period of time.
  15. This periodic evaluation will not enable us to assess our performance, it will go a long way to keep us constantly in check by the people we represent.
  16. I urge you all to keep your head high, work as a team and deliver as one indivisible and a united family in service to our people.
  17. As your Governor, I will lead by example at all times and I will prioritize service, loyalty, transparency, probity and accountability in everything I do; hence, we must put the people first as an administration.
  18. Congratulations to you all.
  19. Thank you and God bless you.

AHMED USMAN ODODO
EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR OF KOGI STATE.
