Stakeholders of the ruling All Progressive Congress in Kogi West Senatorial Districts have resolved to unite in order to deliver bulk votes to the Tinubu/Shettima ticket in the forthcoming general elections slated for February next year.
This was contained in a communique issued at the end of a stakeholders meeting of the party held in Kabba, the senatorial headquarters to discuss how to ensure overwhelming victory for the party in all the Elections.
The meeting which was convened by Chief Ben Olowodola is for the stakeholders to discuss the way forward for the party in the zone, stressing that lack of unity of purpose, infighting and self centeredness were among issues identified to have been bedeviling the party in the area.
It was noted that the meeting has become necessary for the party to kickstart the electioneering campaigns for the presidential and other candidates of the party to get an overwhelming victory in the polls.
Many who spoke at the meeting agreed to the fact that there is need for concerted efforts to unite all party members especially at the leadership level to harness all groups who are working differently for the same project. They pointed out that Kogi West and indeed Kogi state cannot afford to lose the election considering the critical role being played by Hon. James Abiodun Faleke as the Secretary of the Presidential Campaign Council and Governor Yahaya Bello as the National Coordinator for Youths Moblization, hence the need for all hands to be on deck to join other senatorial districts to deliver the entire state to APC.
They agreed that it is time for all to bury their prides and work for the overall success of the party, while noting that going forward the meeting will become regular for other critical stakeholders to come on board especially the candidates and people in government.
They noted that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Alhaji Kazeem Shettima are good materials that will be easy to sell considering their antecedents as Governors of Lagos and Borno States respectively, pointing out the need for everyone to buckle up and work to achieve the goals of APC winning the presidency.
The meeting reemphasized the need for serious work to be done at the grassroots to mobilize the people and also reconcile some people who may be aggrieved for one reason or the other in the course of the party’s activities in the past.
They called on the youths in the zone to come together to work for the ruling APC as the party remains the only platform that will grant them the needed opportunity to achieve great success in life, stressing that the group has identified it’s
strength, weakness and opportunity hence they will work hard to achieve their goals.
