***Sets Development Priorities Straight Amid Chieftaincy Controversy
Senator Sunday Karimi, representing the Kogi West Senatorial District and serving as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Senate Services, has vehemently denied any involvement in the ongoing chieftaincy dispute in the Egbe community, located in Yagba West Local Government Area. In a recent statement, he criticized individuals who have dragged his name into the controversy, labeling their actions as attempts to achieve cheap popularity.
Senator Karimi made it clear that he has no personal interest in who occupies the chieftaincy position in Egbe and has no plans to interfere in the matter. He emphasized that his primary responsibility is to provide quality representation for all the people of Kogi West Senatorial District while fulfilling his legislative duties at the National Assembly.
His comments came in response to a press conference held by His Royal Highness Oba Adeniyi Bolaji and others, accusing him of meddling in the selection of a new leader for the Ighare Ijalu community. However, Senator Karimi stated that interfering in community matters with established rules and regulations regarding succession would be a disservice to his constituents.
The senator highlighted his focus on critical projects such as the repair of major roads in the area, ongoing remodeling of schools, and installation of solar-powered streetlights. He also mentioned his initiative to establish a Military Forward Operating Base in Egbe to combat insecurity in the region, reinforcing his commitment to peace and development.
Senator Karimi urged the public to recognize that he does not engage in violence, thuggery, or other social vices, and he has not sent any individuals to attack anyone over the chieftaincy dispute. He called on the community to resolve their issues without involving his name, emphasizing his dedication to serving the people of Kogi West and promoting development in the region.
