***sheds light on the state of the Senate and spark debate on the need for change

Former National Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan, has not minced words in his scathing criticism of Senator Godswill Akpabio and the current state of the Senate. In a recent statement, Ologbondiyan declared that “This Senator Godswill Akpabio’s 10th Senate is an eyesore.”

Ologbondiyan went on to criticize the lack of respect, values, and maturity that he believes the Senate is currently lacking. He pointed to the controversial actions of the Senate President, including labeling some of his colleagues as “Court Ordered Senators,” as well as the allegations of sexual abuse against the presiding officer.

“Never, in the history of the Senate, has a presiding officer been dragged to court over alleged sexual abuse by his own supposedly distinguished colleague,” Ologbondiyan lamented. He called on Senator Akpabio to step down from his position and face the N100 billion sexual harassment court case against him in order to restore the integrity of the Senate.

Ologbondiyan’s comments have sparked a debate among political observers, with many agreeing that the current state of the Senate is indeed troubling. Some have called for Senator Akpabio to heed Ologbondiyan’s advice and step down, while others have defended the embattled Senator.

Regardless of the outcome, it is clear that Ologbondiyan’s remarks have brought attention to the issues plaguing the Senate and have reignited calls for reform. As the political landscape continues to evolve, it remains to be seen how Senator Akpabio and the Senate as a whole will respond to these criticisms and work towards restoring public trust in the institution.
