Chief Ogunniyi Babatunde alias KOMOH, a veteran Kwara State Volleyball player excited by the recent invitation of 15 volleyball players from Kwara State who got invites to the national camp in preparation for Volleyball Africa Cup of Nations , billed for September this year in Kaduna, has given a motivational cash gift to the players and officials on the national call.
It is in note that Fifteen Kwara State volleyball Players have been invited to the U 19 and U 21 volleyball National Camp in Kaduna.
In a statement issued by Coach Wale Gbadamosi in Ilorin over the weekend, confirmed that Seven Players were invited into the U 19 boys category, two players into the U 19 girls category while two were invited in the U 21 boys category.
Coach Wale added that seven players were invited in the U 19 boys category, two players also invited in the U 19 girls category while four players were invited in the female category of U 21.
Coach Wale who stressed that the invitation was as a result of the untiring efforts of the executive Chairman of the Kwara State Sports Commission, Mallam Bola Magaji to reposition and revamp sports sector in the state, believed that the opportunity would be well utilized by the players.
He lauded a volleyball veteran in the state, Chief Ogunniyi Babatunde alias KOMOH who motivated each invited player with the sum of ten thousand naira and twenty thousand naira each for the coaches, noting that, the financial gesture will go along way in bring out the best in the players .
The Players and coaches however expressed appreciation to the sports commission and Chief Ogunniyi and pledged to be good ambassadors of the state while in Kaduna.
Coach Wale also Commended Professor Tunde Adepoju for his yearly Secondary Schools Championship where majority of the invited players were discovered and Bashorun Kayode Bank oke for his continuous support towards the growth of the game in the state.
The Volleyball Africa Cup of Nations is billed for September this year in Kaduna
