Leading with Integrity: A New Chapter for Asiwaju Engr. Dr. Prince Olatunji OlusojiAgba Akin of Ijumu Kingdom

AGBA AKIN OF IJUMU KINGDOM
Saturday, the 22 of November 2025, marked a defining moment in my journey of service and prioritizing humanity as I was conferred with the prestigious chieftaincy title of Agba Akin of Ijumu Kingdom by His Royal Majesty, Oba Williams Olusegun Ayeni, the Olujumu of Ijumu Kingdom, at Iyara in Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State.

This particular honour deeply humbles me. The title of Agba Akin is traditionally reserved for the elderly—men of advanced age, valor, and proven track records. Yet, the King and his esteemed Council of Elders deemed it fit to bestow this revered title upon me. Their decision is rooted in their belief that although I am young, my contributions to the development of the Okun nation, Kogi State, and humanity at large make me worthy of this great responsibility. This recognition strengthens my resolve to continue serving with integrity, courage, and compassion.

It is a privilege that now stands proudly alongside the other revered honours I have been blessed with over the years — Asiwaju of Ayere Kingdom, Afiwajoye of Ejuku Kingdom, Turaki Gamji of Arewa, and Basorun Akinjagunla of Ogidi Kingdom. Each title is a reminder of responsibility, heritage, and a call to serve with even greater dedication.

In my acceptance speech, I expressed profound gratitude to the Olujumu of Ijumu and the entire Traditional Council for finding me worthy of this noble recognition. I also reaffirmed my unwavering commitment to the continuous advancement of Ijumu Kingdom, the Okun nation, Kogi West, Kogi State, and humanity at large.

As a demonstration of this commitment, I made a contribution of ₦30,000,000 to the Iyara Development Union—a gesture aimed at supporting development efforts and fostering progress within Iyara community.

This honour is not just mine; it belongs to everyone who believes in service, unity, and the upliftment of our people.
