The former legislator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Dino Melaye has expressed shock at the transition of the monarch, Muhammadu Kabir Maikarfi III.
In a condolence message issued on his behalf on Thursday by his SA on media, Melaye described the late monarch as a quintessential monarch, a man of peace and a passionate lover and supporter of development.
While condoling with the monarch’s immediate family and the people of Lokoja, the Senator Melaye said they should take solace in the lasting impact he had on his domain.
Melaye extols His majesty’s extraordinary and committed leadership to his people and his exceptional stewardship throughout his reign.
He acknowledged that under the monarch’s reign, Lokoja witnessed remarkable transformation in every sphere development.
He also expressed the hope that Lokoja, Kogi State and indeed all who mourn the Maigari will continue to honour his legacy of selfless service and commitment to human dignity.
He prayed God Almighty to grant his soul eternal rest and comfort his family, well-wishers and the Lokoja people in this period of loss and mourning.
