The Local Government Education Authority (LGEA) in Obokun recently launched its “Ounje Imole” initiative which is focused on improving the overall nutritional intake of pupils in the local government.
At the launch, Hon. (Ms) Oluwatoyin Babaniyi, who is the chairperson for LGEA, made a significant contribution by distributing materials such as coolers, stainless plates, buckets, trays and bowls to O-meal food vendors who will be responsible for preparing the meals for the pupils.
The event, which held at the LGEA office in Ibokun, was attended by several prominent individuals including all the board members; Hon. Lawrence Kolawole (Secretary), Hon. Owoeye Adelani, Hon. Engr. Otegbayo, Hon. Oluyole Adeyemi, Hon. Ayodele Mercy and Hon. Adeniran Adewuyi. Other attendees included Hon. Jiire Agboola, Caretaker Chairman of Obokun Main Council, Hon. Kunle Adeoti, Caretaker Chairman of Obokun East LCDA Ilare-Ijesa and the HoS Planning Obokun Local Government, Mrs Olaifa.
The contribution made by Hon. (Ms) Oluwatoyin Babaniyi has been deemed significant and timely, considering the growing importance of adequate nutrition for pupils of all ages. These materials will be essential in ensuring that the pupils are served their meals in a safe and hygienic manner, ultimately contributing to their overall health and wellbeing.
It is important to note that the launch of “Ounje Imole” is a clear indication of the commitment of the Obokun LGEA, under the visionary leadership of Hon. Toyin Babaniyi, to the improvement of the educational and nutritional welfare of the young people in the community.
