The Honourable Member Representing Yagba Federal Constituency attends the 2022 Ogidi Days the Chairman of this year’s Ogidi day.
The member was welcomed by a large crowd as he honoured the people of Ogidi at this year’s celebration of cultural heritage and the New Yam Festival of Ogidi Kingdom.
Hon. Abejide applauded the people of Ogidi while he expressed his excitement being his first time attending the Ogidi day and New Yam Festival Celebration. He commended the efforts of the Ogidi Development Association (ODU).
In his speech, Hon. Leke Abejide greeted HRH Oba R.O Sule the Ologidi of Ogidi, HRH Oba Williams Olusegun Ayeni( The Olujumu of Ijumu Kingdom, all Royal Fathers, the Chiefs present, all Ogidi sons and daughters.
“This is my first visit to Ogidi, also my first attendance of the auspicious celebration of Ogidi day, even though I have been hearing about this great festival, today is my first attendance which is also the 10th anniversary, I am so lucky to be here as well.
“I celebrate with the Royal Fathers, the ODU, especially Alhaji Hon. Ipinmisho, and all the indigenous people of Ogidi. This August cultural festival of Ogidi launched to the world the diversity, uniqueness and the importance of our culture in Okun land”. He said.
Hon. Abejide stated that as a politician it is impossible to attend this kind of gathering and not discuss political issues. He publicly announced to the people of Ogidi that he has brought good news to them as he is ready to pay for Waec fees for all the students in Kabba Bunu Ijumu Federal Constituency, while he officially introduced Arc. Salman Idris and Alaga Tokunbo aspirants of the ADC for House of Representatives Kabba Bunu Ijumu and State Assembly Ijumu.
“I want our people in Kabba Bunu Ijumu to experience more of good governance through the most credible party ADC just like the people of Yagba”.
He further seeks the support of the people of Ogidi for aspirants under ADC as the most credible alternative for the people.
Hon. Leke Abejide launched the New Yam as the Chairman of the 10th Ogidi day anniversary with a sum of 2Million Naira, he also prayed for Ogidi community that as they celebrate this year’s cultural heritage and new yam festival, the community will continue to enjoy peace and tranquillity to celebrate more in unity.
Good things will not depart from Ogidi community and Okun land. He prayed.
