There was great funfare in Okene as the new Ohi of Okene, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Idaho Mamman Okatahi was coronated.
The coordinator of Agro-Processing, Agricultural Productivity Enhancement and Livelihood Improvement Support (APPEALS) Project, and the 2023 Okene/Ogori Magongo House of Representatives Aspirant, Dr Sanni Abdullahi Ozomata attended the coronation ceremony of His Royal Highness, Alh. Isah Mamman Okatahi.
Dr. Ozomata while congratulating the Ohi of Okene, said, the foremost traditional ruler has been making very significant impact in the development of Okene in particular and Kogi in general while he was a teacher.
He added that, he has no doubt that HRH, Alh. Mamman will use his position to promote peace among the various ethnic groups in the LGA and as well working with relevant stakeholders and institutions to advance the socio-economic development of Okene people.
He further described the Ohi as a vibrant, visionary and progressive personality who he believed will be at the forefront for any quest for a just society.
Dignatiries such as the Chairman of Kogi State APC Elder Councils, Alh. Yahaya Karaku, One time Kogi Central Senate Aspirant, Alh Khalifa Abdulrahman Okene, Former Assembly Members and several others attended the coronation ceremony.
Dr. Ozomata asked God to grant the Ohi of Okene long life, good health, a peaceful and purposeful reign so that he can contribute meaningfully to Okene, and also sustain unity and harmony in the land.
