***urged them to refrain from taking to the streets in protest

In a recent press statement, Oladele John Nihi, the Special Adviser to Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo on Youth and Student Matters, has issued an appeal to the students of Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH) to join forces with the governor in ensuring the safe return of their abducted colleagues.

The statement comes in response to the alarming situation surrounding the abduction of CUSTECH students, with a circulating voice note indicating that the kidnappers are demanding a staggering ransom of 200 million Naira for the release of one of the abducted students, Ms. Fatima.

While acknowledging the fears and anxieties of the students, Nihi urges them to refrain from taking to the streets in protest, emphasizing that Governor Ododo and the state’s security agencies are tirelessly working towards the rescue of the remaining abducted students.

Governor Ododo’s commitment to the safety and well-being of all students is unwavering, with Nihi assuring the students and their families that every possible measure is being taken to secure the safe return of the abducted students.

Nihi also highlights the potential risks of paying ransom to kidnappers, stating that such actions could embolden and empower the perpetrators, leading to further acts of terrorism. Instead, he advocates for a collaborative approach that places the safety and security of all individuals at the forefront.

In closing, Nihi urges the students to remain calm and trust in the ongoing efforts of the government and security agencies. He reassures them that work will continue towards the safe return of their colleagues and the overall security of the state.

With Governor Ododo’s call for unity and collaboration, there is hope that a collective effort will lead to the safe return of the abducted students and the restoration of peace within the CUSTECH community.

Thank you.
