Omoluabi Congratulates Ododo’s On Supreme Court Victory, Says It’s Affirmation Of The Peoples Will

Special Adviser to the Governor of Kogi State Governor on Energy Resources, Omoluabi Bode Adeyemi has congratulated his principal, Usman Ododo on the affirmation of his victory as duly elected governor of the state, saying the will of Kogites has again been upheld.

He said the victory now lays to rest the months of maliciously induced distractions for the governor has finally come to an end, expressing gratitude to the people of Kogi for the solidarity and support while the legal squabble lasted and also commending the judiciary for being on the side of the people

The affirmation of Ododo’s victory on Friday followed the dismissal of the appeal of Murtala Ajaka, the candidate of the Social Democratic Party who challenged the outcome of the election.

In a unanimous judgment, the Apex Court upheld the decision of the Court of Appeal which on the twenty-seventh of May affirmed the election of governor Ododo.

The five-man panel held that the allegation of substantial non-compliance with the Electoral Act was not proven by the SDP governorship candidate.

Reacting to the decision of the apex court shortly after Ajaka’s appeal was thrown out, Omoluabi expressed gratitude to the judiciary for demonstrating courage and resilience by standing by the truth.

He said, “What we have witnessed today is a victory for the judiciary, a victory for the people of Kogi who have been yearning for good governance.

“I am happy that the will of the people of our state has finally been affirmed by the highest court in the land. The November 11 election was the collective will of our people for a consolidation of good governance and that is what my Lord Justices have upheld today.

“With this, the governor will now be allowed to settle down and continue with the aggressive transformation of our dear state for which he was hired.

“Permit me to also use this opportunity to once again call on the opposition to join the hands with our performing Governor to keep Kogi on the pedestal of national history”, he said.
