The second edition of the Ona-Ara Movement Ijumu Football Competition proudly sponsored by ESV Olugbenga Collins Rotimi, Founder/CEO of Ona-Ara Movement Worldwide officially kicked off today, the 10th of June, 2024. Excitement filled the air as teams from various communities gathered to compete for the prestigious title.

In a thrilling opening match, Ayegunle-Gbede FC emerged victorious over Ayetoro Gbede FC with a narrow 1:0 goal margin. The match was fiercely contested with both teams displaying great skill and determination on the field.

The 2024 championship promises to be an exciting one, with a total prize money of ₦1,000,000 up for grabs. The first position will take home a cash prize of ₦500,000, the second position will receive ₦300,000, and the third position will walk away with ₦200,000.

In a gesture of encouragement and motivation, the sponsor has also arranged for each team to receive a match incentive of ₦50,000 for every game played, regardless of the outcome.

Ten teams from different communities are participating in this year’s competition, including Aduge Ogale, Aiyegunle Gbede, Ayere, Ayetoro Gbede, Ekinrin Adde, Egbeda Egga, Iyamoye, Iyara, Odokoro Gbede, and Ogidi.

The tournament will culminate in the final match, which will be held at Baptist High School Sports Field in Ekinrin Adde on the 21st of June, 2024. Football enthusiasts and community members are looking forward to an action-packed few days filled with thrilling matches and fierce competition as the teams battle it out for glory.
