Chairman of the Osun Revenue Committee, Hon. Sola Adewumi FCA, has hailed the judgment of the appellate court seating in Abuja for setting aside the judgment of the Kume-led election petition tribunal.
The chairman made the statement on Friday in Osogbo the State capital, describing the ruling as a victory for democracy and the good people of Osun State.
“It is a great day and I am extremely elated. I want to appreciate the wisdom, courage and doggedness of the appellate court Judges in standing by the truth.
“It also gladdens my heart that the mandate of our people has been reaffirmed and revalidated and we give glory to God. It is a victory for democracy and for the people of Osun State”, Adewumi said.
While congratulating the executive governor of Osun State, Gov Ademola Adeleke, on his victory, the chairman urges the Muslim community to use the fasting period and Holy month of Ramadan to pray for the peace, unity and development of the State and the nation at large.
Hon. Adewumi FCA also extend his congratulatory message to the three PDP Senator-elects, nine member-elects of the Federal House of Representatives and the 25 House of Assembly candidates who have just been elected in the last Saturday’s election. He commends the Caretaker Chairman of the Osun State People’s Democratic Party, Dr. Akindele Adekunle and all members of the caretaker committee for their efforts towards electoral victories.
Hon. Adewumi FCA, however, reassured that the Osun Revenue Committee remains committed and dedicated to Osun State under the performing governor, Senator Nurudeen Jackson Ademola Adeleke and will continue to provide quality services the state deserves, urging the people of the state to continue to stand by the governor as they have always been.
He also thanked members of the Osun Revenue Committee for been supportive all through the time, promising never to let them down.
