In the wake of the recent Appeal Court ruling upholding the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the November 11, 2023 Kogi State governorship election, Hon. Abayomi Bello, the secretary of the campaign council of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), has reassured supporters and the people of Kogi State that the Supreme Court will rectify the alleged “stolen mandate”.
Bello expressed his confidence in the Nigerian judicial system, stating that he believes the truth will prevail and justice will be served. He emphasized that the SDP and its candidate, Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, have full faith in the apex court to correct the injustices that have been inflicted upon them.
“We are confident that the Supreme Court will do what the two lower courts didn’t have the courage to do and restore the mandate to the rightful owner, which is Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka,” Bello said.
He urged party members and supporters to remain calm despite the setback from the Appeal Court ruling, assuring them that the SDP will continue to fight for justice and the best interests of the people of Kogi State.
“We believe that under an Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka-led administration, the best of Kogi State will be delivered. Our efforts will not be in vain, and the mandate will be rightfully returned to us,” Bello concluded.
With unwavering determination, the SDP remains steadfast in their quest for justice and the recovery of what they believe is rightfully theirs – the mandate to govern the people of Kogi State.
