***Community expresses gratitude for his safe return.

The Chief Imam of Iyara, Sheikh Quasim Musa, who was kidnapped from his residence in Ijumu Local Government Area, has been freed after a harrowing 12 days in captivity. The Iyara Development Association (IDA) expressed profound gratitude to Almighty God for the safe return of Sheikh Musa, who was reunited with his family and is currently receiving medical attention in a undisclosed hospital.

The community emphasized the importance of remaining vigilant and reporting any suspicious activities to the authorities to combat the evil of insecurity in the area. In a press release, the IDA extended heartfelt appreciation to various entities for their support during the challenging period.

Acknowledging the support received, the IDA thanked Kogi State Governor Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo, State Security Adviser Commander Jerry Omodara (rtd), Ijumu Local Government Caretaker Chairman Alh. Haruna Ibrahim, and the Ijumu Traditional Council led by Olujumu of Ijumu Kingdom, Oba Dr. Williams Olusegun Ayeni for their unwavering solidarity.

The IDA also commended the efforts of security agencies, religious groups including JNI and the Council of Ulamau, CAN, as well as the media and well-wishers for their remarkable support throughout the ordeal. Prayers were offered for the prevention of any future occurrences of such nature in the community.

The National President of IDA, Alh. Aliyu Badaki, signed off the press release, expressing gratitude to all involved in the safe return of Sheikh Quasim Musa.
