The Director General of Ijumu Campaign Council for All Progressives Council, Hon Funsho Olumoko, has stated that the candidate of his party would win the election.
Hon Funsho Olumoko who was a former council boss made this known after casting his vote in Ekinrin Adde ward, Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State .
He said though there was voter aparthy in his community, explaining that this was due to vested interest in view of an opposition party candidate within Ekinrin Adde community.
Olumoko also attributed the voter aparthy to the rumour of mayhem which scared voters away. He added that however, there was peace and order during the election.
Olumoko who praised the leadership of the party for accepting a woman to be the candidate of the party, said the choice of a woman also went a long way for the massive turn out of women to support their own.
He disclosed that as a party man to the core, he would not betray his party for community agenda.
He explained that even if he supported community agenda, it won’t be replicated in the other 14 wards.
He also noted that the joy of the whole thing is that democracy is at work, explaining that no community could force anyone to vote for a candidate .
“The choice to vote for a party candidate should not be by force but by choice” Olumoko stated.
