The youths of Ekinrin-Adde have called on candidate of African Democratic Congress, ADC, in the Kogi State gubernatorial election, Mr Leke Abejide, to have his opinion and impression about Ekinrin-Adde corrected.
The youths made the call Thursday, following a review of the action of Abejide, during the last Ekinrin-Adde Cultural Day, which took place June.
During, the event, Mr Abejide, who was honoured with a chieftaincy tittle, by the Olu-Adde of Ekinrin-Adde, Olu Anthony Bamigbaye Idowu, (Ahe-Maworo 1) OON, ACA, and the Olu-Adde in council, rejected all the scepters of the ceremony presented by the Olu-Adde, insisting that, he already brought personal scepters for himself.
Abejide was allegedly said to have rejected the Olu Adde’s bid, cap and other accessories based on suspicion that Ekinrin-Adde is a fetish community, that is out to harm him.
The irate youths frown at this action of the House of Reps member, describing it as disrespectful of the throne of Olu-Adde.
“We need to make it abundantly clear, that, our Kabiyesi is a respected Man of God, who has no time for ungodly activities, that Abejide may have imagined.”
The youths therefore called for a public apology by Abejide, to the Ekinrin-Adde traditional council without delay; adding that, Ekinrin-Adde community holds its traditional rulers in high esteem, are are reluctant in allowing such big embarrassments go, unredressed.
The youths advised Abejide to relieve himself of his burden of pride, as that may work against his political future.
