Wike/Dino: Kogi East PDP Youth Network Cautions Bolufemi Rotimi Over Divisive Comments, Calls For Restrain

A group of youths under the agies of Kogi East PDP youth network has frowned at the uncomplimentary and divisive reaction from a PDP governorship aspirant, Dr Bolu Rotimi, over the recent feud between the outgoing governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike and Senator Dino Melaye, a leading governorship aspirant in Kogi State.

The group who spoke at Onyedega, Ibaji local government area of Kogi State through comrade Opanachi Monday Andrew, Ibaji LGA coordinator, noted with shock and disbelief the manner at which Dr Bolufemi Rotimi reacted to the lingering issues. As a man who intends to lead our dear State, we expect him to exhibit certain level of political maturity devoid of parochial interests and promote the culture of peace and unity if he must interfare in the matter. Kogi people will decide the fate of Kogi, not any external interested party.

We are PDP youths from Kogi East, and we believe strongly that any of the aspirant can emerge from any zone, therefore, we do not see why any aspirant should leverage on a feud and personal opinion of an individual that has no effect on the decision of who becomes the PDP- candidate in Kogi to create an avoidable crisis.

We are not unaware that some elements are behind the surface, steering the atmosphere of rancour and disunity over this issue for selfish reasons. Dr Bolu’s angry response showed a lack of restraint.
We wish to state that, Governor Wike is one of our party leaders irrespective of his unproductive and anti party roles in the last presidential election, however anyone may see it, his personal opinion has no effect on Kogi State PDP.

Furthermore, we are not obligated to align with his views before, now or later, then why will anyone be so worry, the group asked.
The group cautioned against further inflammatory remarks, practices and threats against the existence of the party, as we won’t allow anyone to destroy it in the name of anything.

We wish all the aspirant good luck in the coming primary as power belongs to God, and he gives it to whoever he wishes.
